Enjoyment and culture in ancient walls

Anyone who wants to spend a special time-out in the Palatinate should check in at Weinhaus Henninger. The kitchen surprises again and again with familiar dishes in a new look, and celebrations also find a setting in the old building.

Here the guest will finds cultivated hospitality and pretty half-timbered houses. Weinhaus Henninger is one of the oldest buildings in the village. The history goes way back to 1615. Now the half-timbered building has become a (gourmet) restaurant with 13 points in the Gault Millau and a 4-star country hotel. Subtle luxury and elegant lightness characterise the furnishings and offer plenty of room for individuality.

In the Henninger, you can certainly enjoy the fine country life. This also includes enjoying the unmistakable charm of tradition and the Palatinate way of life, because “tradition, region and emotion” are the values that Weinhaus Henninger in Kallstadt on the German Wine Route stands for.

TOP-CLASS PALATINATE CUISINE

What would the Palatinate region be without its wonderful cuisine? The Weinhaus Henninger offers authentic Palatinate cuisine at the highest level. It is based on the original recipes of the famous wine tavern owner Luise Henninger, who turned the once modest estate bar into a place of pilgrimage for good food and warm hospitality. With a flair for fine cuisine, Chef Tommy Walter has carefully developed the original recipes. The Palatinate favourites are complemented by popular classics from German cuisine cooked in the Henninger kitchen over decades.

Viennese Schnitzel with warm potato salad or veal kidney in cognac cream are particularly popular. Master chef Walter and his team also offer refined regional and seasonal cuisine. These creations can be found on the “seasonal cuisine” menu, which changes monthly. This kitchen concept is called the trinity: Palatinate cuisine, Henninger’s classics, seasonal cuisine.

The wine list of the Weinhaus Henninger restaurant was written with great dedication to wine and with love for detail. The personal experiences made during visits to the numerous vineyards are particularly formative.

BEST SELECTION OF WINES

The wine list now features 200 wines. The selection of Palatinate vineyards covers the entire Wine Route. An extensive and well-assorted selection of wines was created from the different experiences. To fully understand a wine, one must not only drink it, but also learn about the vineyard behind it. Weinhaus Henninger has therefore published a lot of interesting information about the respective vineyards in its map.

CULTURAL INSTITUTION WITH A WELL-KEPT HOTEL BAR

In Henninger’s hotel bar you can also enjoy the Palatinate way of life and make friends for life over a glass of wine. The floor-to-ceiling windows with fantastic views of the vineyards and the warm service invite you to take time and relax. In addition to the large selection of wines, guests can of course end the evening with a freshly tapped cellar beer from the Mayrbräu private brewery and a selection of other spirits.

However, the Henninger is much more than just a hotel and restaurant. The winery has now developed into a cultural institution in the Mannheim-Heidelberg area. Comedy, presentation and music evenings are highlights throughout the year.

LOCATION FOR BUSINESS EVENTS

The house with its hotel and restaurant also offers space for private events. Whether it’s a small-scale wedding, an exuberant party, an annual company event or a milestone birthday with friends and family: The Henninger offers you space and atmosphere to make your special day what it should be - special! A cultivated, warm hospitality, excellent cuisine, selected wines from vineyards in the Palatinate, beautiful rooms and lots of space for celebrations await the up to 100 guests.

Weinhaus Henninger is also an ideal location for business events. For small to medium-sized conferences in the Palatinate, the Henninger offers rooms with state-of-the-art technology for eight to 40 people. The location in the Rhine-Neckar Metropolitan Region makes the Weinhaus Henninger and its Dépendance Weinkastell “Zum Weißen Ross” the ideal place for seminars and meetings of all kinds. “See for yourself and be inspired. You will love Weinhaus Henninger”, says Rita Sauer, manager and hostess at Weinhaus Henniger, with confidence.
